The A4A Art for Architecture studio foundry is based on a small farm on the beautiful south-west coast of rural Scotland, overlooking the Ailsa Craig Island. Our 5-day bronze casting courses and steel sculpture courses have a maximum of 4 persons per course to enable a methodical learning experience with much hands-on practical involvement. We keep the course numbers low to give each participant maximum tutor contact in what is a knowledge-intensive process, thus ensuring that the learners are the main focus of the course.

Using traditional methods and materials, students on one of our gilding courses will be guided through all the stages of preparation of gesso and bole to the laying and burnishing of gold and silver leaf.
