Using traditional methods and materials, students on one of our gilding courses will be guided through all the stages of preparation of gesso and bole to the laying and burnishing of gold and silver leaf. At the end of a 3-day course, students should have completed 3 projects to take home. We also offer a one-day intensive course covering a wide range of restoration techniques during which students will be shown how to replace, gild and tone missing sections on ornate picture and mirror frames. |
