I would like to encourage a wide variety of people to come to my purpose-built studio and have a go at working with wood. Our chairmaking courses will teach you the skills you need to make a useful and attractive addition to your home. The courses, which take place at the beautiful location of Urchfont Manor, are run by Peter Hindle who has many years of experience in the craft of chairmaking. Participants will be able to choose from 9 variations of Windsor style, Shaker or English ladderback chairs and, with the use of Ashem rotary planes and allied equipment, each student should complete the component parts for a chair of their choice within the six day workshop.
